Hi Joel!

The founder of WebWork, XDoclet and some other cool OSS, Rickard Öberg, works at a company selling a product based on the mentioned Portlet API. It also uses WebWork a lot, from what I gather. He is active on this list, so getting in touch with him and his company could possibly be worthwhile to you!

He posted some links here a few weeks ago with some links to portal sites they had implemented. Search the archives...

cheers,
/Måns

Subject: [OS-webwork] Websphere portal server to Webwork, help please !

Hi

My company has a client (one of the big 3 'Reiseportal' application in Germany) which has bought Websphere and IBM portal server one year ago. The development cycle is very very bad, and now, we have to make some proposal to use another portal framework. I already think about Webwork.

Then the question...

- IBM portal server is a mix of Apache Jetspeed and Turbine. And use some "Portlet API". Is the also some API like this in WW ? That's were wonderfull to plug the portlet we have.

- because this IBM portal do NOT come with session management (how we can sell such a bad product ??), we program this. How portlet just as for some XML, use some stylesheets and render, that all, i.e we use 5% of this IBM framework.

has someone experience of how to switch quickly ?

Thanks

Joel
