Hopefully they won't diverge. 1.x definitely isn't on life support mode either. I (on a personal level) will certainly not recommend people use ww2, and will explain my (heavily biased) reasoning.

What are your issues with 2.0? The only thing I've read in the past month or so that would explain your reasoning is performance, however you yourself even said that you hadn't tested this yourself - you were going on someone else's words. In the next few weeks I'm going to start evaluating 2.0 as a possible upgrade for our applications and I'd appreciate informed opinions, dissenting or otherwise.
