Hi,

check_apt in general works. I have Problems with the "security" and "non-
security" determination in Ubuntu. Example:

/etc/motd says:

94 packages can be updated.
47 updates are security updates.

Maybe old Datan? No:

#/usr/lib/update-notifier/update-motd-updates-available
94 packages can be updated.
47 updates are security updates.

#/usr/lib/update-notifier/apt-check --human-readable
94 packages can be updated.
47 updates are security updates.

Those two update-notifier scripts are responsible for the motd generation... So
ok, Ubuntu pretends there are security updates. Let's see what check_apt tells
me:

#./check_apt -d
APT WARNING: 94 packages available for dist-upgrade (0 critical updates).

Hm.

Regards,
   Markus
