One thing I don't think I've seen mentioned is the issue of storage configuration and uptime requirements impact on capacity planning. Is the planned system 7x24 or will there be maintenance windows to add storage? Can storage be added hot or is downtime required. These issues will require the fudge factor to be adjusted accordingly.
