Take a look at Mailman ( http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman.html ). While I haven't used it, it's replacing Majordomo in a lot of sites.
Majordomo's been static for years, while Mailman's an active project. While that could mean that Majordomo's stable and Mailman's chock full of new bugs, that doesn't seem to be the case from what I've heard. The installation looks pretty straightforward; you might want to give it a quick try and see if it'll work for you - the biggest problem might be trying to use Orion as the web server (but you'd know more about than then I would <g>)...
