Hello All.. I have this following idea for a project in SoC 2006. Please let me know what your comments are about this.
Ideally, I would like to develop a portal basing on DRMAA (I think there are a few bindings currently available) that would allow job submission, monitoring, archiving and resource status monitoring (over any chosen DRM in the cluster). Given that OSCAR supports multiple DRMs such as SGE, Torque (and hopefully grid resource managers like GRAM in Globus), a generic job monitoring and archiving support would be really nice to have and AFAIK there is a demand for one in the grid community too. The other idea was to port OSCAR to Solaris. But, based on feedback from Bernard and Geoffroy, I think its not feasible for a single-student summer project. So, I think its going to be on the background for the time being. If you have any related ideas, let me know there too.
