Hi Bernard,
Thank you. Sure I can help you test it in the future if I have the spare time. But what was most difficult was getting the three new motherboards with ICH8 and Intel 865 chipset witho two intel e1000 nics, the P5B-VM DO working with Oscar and I succeeded with your assistance. Ofcourse credit also goes to the person who created the build_oscar_rpms scripts and that infrastructure because now it may be possible to port individually to any distro as the SRPMS will be compiled for that distro and architecture.
Any suppot for ppc64 and playstation3 clusters?
Cheers,
Allan

Hi Allan:

Glad to know that you got your Fedora Core 6 x86_64 OSCAR cluster up
and running. The next step in the support process is to streamline
the process and to eliminate the manual steps. Hopefully you can help
us test this in the future.

Cheers,

Bernard

Did you go back to the wizard and run the "complete cluster setup" step?

That does things like sync files and run post install setup on some
packages, so it is very important.
Also running the cluster tests is nice too, just to verify there is nothing
obviously wrong.

Hi,
I successfully installed the client image on the Intel 965 chipset
mobo (ASUS P5B-VM DO) with kernel 2.6.20.1 and the option in Oscar UYOK
with FC6 x86_64 but I cannot login to the client nodes as root or the
user with the head node password. I just cant login as root.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Allan

Hi,
I did not need to complete the cluster to successfully login to aclient.
All I did was delete all clients and remake the client image and install
them via pxe boot to
all nodes. Kernels > 2.6.19 support the new P5b-VM DO intel 965 chipset
motherboard.
So now I have acluster with 15 nodes three of them with dual e1000 nic
P5B-VM DO motherboards
and 12 with the asrock 775i65G two nic one intel e1000 and another skge!
I can login to all machines as root or user with the headnodes passwords!
I have a FC6-x86_64 cluster with some of the latest mobos.
Thank you all! I can upload the x86_64 FC6 rpms i genearted to Oscar 5.1 so
others can experiment
with Oscar5.1 and FC6 x86_64 support if you find a way for me to do so. I
can ftp them but i need aurl and a password
Oscar 5.1 is coming along well! With the script oscar_build_rpms and source
RPMS and build.cfg in these SRPMS dir
one can support almost any distro!
Keep up the good work!
Cheers and thanks to Bernard and others,
Allan
