When i tried it my simple way was to change /etc/fedora-release to
Fedora Core release 7 (Rawhide)
Well, that is also one way of doing it... :-)
But there is another issue with OS_Detect it does not correctly detect
the x86_64 arch. It detects it as unkown. So I had to hard code "unkown"
var as "x86_64" in my setup of test of fc7 test2 x86_64. BTW to boot
Can you show the output of `file /bin/bash`? This is used to
determine the arch of the distribution.
/bin/bash
bash: /opt/modules/3.1.6/bin/modulecmd: No such file or directory
That is because i deleletd the module dir in /opt and reinstalled oscar
I cannot get the Ide hda drives to boot from the latest fc7 kernel
2.6.20.1 ..
I tried an experiment: on an asrock mobo i removed the ide drive and put
a sata 2 and it works
With an ide drive i get kernel panic on fc7 x86_64 test2 on the same
asrock mobo.
The problem seems to be the new kernel for fc7. With an ide drive it
installs but complains about Grub.pm
in /usr/lib/systemconfig/Boot/Grub.pm line 346.
from all hard drives update the mkinitrd from yum.
Yes, I saw something in the release notes regarding some issues with mkinitrd...
BTW, I created a VMWare image of Fedora Core 7 Test 2, so I can start
to do some preliminary porting, but it is still quite rough around the
edges (eg. the /etc/sysconfig/network file was corrupted when first
booted...)
Cheers,
Bernard
