Hi Bernard,
I guess you are talking about the UYOK. atftp-server is installed and after i build the uyok kernel and initrd.img i copy them over to /tftpboot to eliminate that problem i encountred before. This is a new problem. i do not know what is causing it. Any ideas?
Thank you for your kind response,
Allan

I thought we had this issue before where you atftp-server does not
like symlink of the kernel + ramdisk -- can you please check?

If you boot the server with Fedora 7, does it correctly enable your
network?

yes

If so, using UYOK with Fedora 7 kernel should work.

I tried the command si_prepareclient --server 192.168.1.1 --no-rsyncd and
also the GUI UYOK
but the client tries to boot and comes up with repeatedly
Loading kernel .......
Could not find ramdisk image: initrd.img anad bot files are there in
/tftpboot
Any other thing that s wrong. Please give me a suggestion .
Allan

Cheers,

Bernard

Hi All,
I need some help installing oscar for the p5k-vm mobo for fc7 x86_64.
The p5k-vm has a marvell yukon 8056 gig nic that sky2 or skge does not
support .
So I downloaded Arighi's systemimager 4063 src systemimager code.
I also downloaded the marvell driverv with the 10.0 ... driver sk98lin
for the nic and patched the linux-2.6.21 systemimager kernel
i did after configure and make gconfig and copying the .config to the
linux.x86_64.config in the ./patches dir
gave the following commands make binaries make install binaries and
copied the the kernel and initrd.img to /tftpboot
from /etc/systemimager/x86_64/boot/standard
but when i boot the client p5k machine it sees the marvel nic but
downloads the boel binaries and then comes up with a tar error:
tar wrong file file type
It halts and comes to the # prompt when i type tar it comes up with a
library error librt.so.1 file or directory missing. i go to /lib and it
is not there
All this is beta so it is hard to debug and the p5k-vm is the latest
mobo and quite cheap $135.00 cdn
But the marvel nic is not supported by systemimagers sky2 drivers so one
has to patch it with the marvel driver when it sees the card otherwise
it wont.
I tried UYOK without much success.
Any help would be appreciated very much and woulkd help oscar users with
new mobo s and distro install and use oscar.
Thank you,
Allan Menezes
