You said that Fedora 7's kernel support your hardware out of the box, so the correct way to get this working is UYOK.
Therefore, please use the unpatched version of SystemImager and try again with UYOK. If it fails, please provide the exact error messages you see on screen. Newer development versions of SystemImager are available, but somehow I do not think that will solve your problem -- you can get them here: http://download.systemimager.org/~arighi/systemimager/x86_64/ Another way to get around your problem is to update the SystemImager kernel to 2.6.22, which hopefully includes the driver you need (currently the kernel version is at 2.6.21).
