Open source is the heart of Internet and its evolution, isn't it ?

What you said in your earlier email was:

Reading through it has no mention of not distributing the fl.* package at
all, only guards against improper use of the package, as in just
distributing the package alone.

Which disturbed me, because as I said, no mention isn't good enough.

Happily, though, the license that you quote does explicitly say
'grants a... license to... distribute'.

Which sounds good to me. Frankly, I'm surprised - I wouldn't have
expected Adobe to allow it, but it seems that they do (unless someone
better at reading software licenses than me can see any issues!)

Hi,

Niels: I'm affraid all the documentation at the moment is online, though
this will be updated over the next few weeks. Is there anything you are
looking for in particular?

Ian, Juan:
Here is a clear cut way of showing all regarding the distribution of the
fl.* classes:
direct link to the license:
http://www.adobe.com/products/eula/third_party/flash/cs3.html

here is the main body of the license which points out re-distribution is
granted:

1. Grant of Rights. Adobe hereby grants a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty
free license to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works from, publicly
display, publicly perform, distribute and sublicense the Classes for use in
your product, provided that
(a) your product provides additional substantial primary functionality
(b) your product is designed to work in conjunction with Adobe products and
services
(c) any notices in the Classes must remain intact and unmodified; and
(d) your product contains an appropriate end user license.

There are four points in total directly relating to the fl.* classes, i
would be glad for more feedback regarding this issue.

Hey.

Do you guys have more documentation and examples than whats online? Its

Hi,

After reading a bit about the legal license for the Adobe Systems
Incorporated fl.* Classes File Distribution here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/eula/third_party/
Reading through it has no mention of not distributing the fl.* package at
all, only guards against improper use of the package, as in just
distributing the package alone.
So as of now the fl.* package is to be included due to the increased
functionality it brings to the framework.

The vesperOpifex framework is one of the best for scalable microsites and
complex projects.

As an update rc1.0.2 has been released with a sound module added.
The future release of rc1.0.21 will incorporate a new Animation model
being modular in itself to load tweening handlers on the fly.

thank you for the information about the legalities of the flash classes,
they will be removed hence forth and the code will be changed to comply with not using the flash ide library of classes. After reading most of the links
you provided the license of the code this has been changed to the MIT
license and update will be in place for the removal of any project
notification of licenses.

look out for an update and get your copy from the SVN repository.

" you can only use if you have a valid license of the Flash IDE"

Just to be clear, I don't mean that you don't have it, I mean that
your *users* might not have it.
