Oh, nice problem there... It's probably just an oversight, and the fact that osgShadow tries to be as transparent and as unobtrusive as possible will make it harder to overcome... I don't have any suggestions for this, perhaps Robert will have some thoughts as it comes down more to how to design the interaction between shadowing and LODs.
