Dear Artur and Tova and all others, Everytime the Middle East is in the news, I struggle. I want to know and I don't want to know. And I struggle to understand. I thought that visiting Israel would help me understand, and in a way it did to some extent. And of course on the other hand I realize that there is no way I can ever fully understand, which makes me hestitate to have an opinion about what should happen. Since I travelled through Israel and the occupied territories, knowing those places from my own experience only makes me feel closer and makes my heart ache even more when there is violence. It also makes me admire the people like you, Tova, and your friends, even more.
I find great beauty in the exchange about this subject over the past few weeks. The way you (Artur and Tova) both struggle to express your thoughts and feelings on this list, right from your hearts, with all of us present, watching and reading with you, fills me with great respect. I see a courage to be different and at the same time the knowledge that we are all connected. It is between these two that love can grow.
