Thanks for all the reflections.

Wilbur has always struck me as brilliant and with a huge ego. I found a number
of places in Boomeritis where I wanted to know the sources that led to such
absolute claims. The result is that while he challenges my thinking, I take
him with a large helping of salt. It helps that he pokes fun at himself so
much in Boomeritis.

By the way, I've actually had experiences of collective consciousness showing
up in Open Space gatherings. By that I mean the same ideas/words showing up in
many sessions from many different people. I also know of someone who
experienced a spontaneous healing (a finger that had lost a nerve connection
and therefore had had no feeling for several years had feeling return) in a
closing circle, so I'd say 3rd tier experiences show up in OS. On that score,
I've wondered to what extent the meme of the OS practitioner affects the
experience.

  hi peggy,

first what did you think of the book? i used to love him, now since ses there
has been a growing disenchantment. so i am wondering what others thoughts are.

regarding your question, i would say that ost has the capacity to operate
aqal. however, wilber would probably classify it as a second tier tool and not
beyond. that is, at best he would probably say that it remains to be seen
whether ost includes the psychic, subtle, causal and nondual. as such, it would
be aqal through the 2nd tier and questionable beyond.

I just finished reading Ken Wilbur's Boomeritis. The book talks
extensively about Spiral Dynamics. One aspect he discusses is how the memes
through Greens are intolerant of each other. I started thinking about Open
Space's capacity to bring people together and actually interact productively.
Makes me think that the power of OST is that it operates, to use Wilbur-ese, in
all quadrants and at all levels.

My apologies to those who don't speak this Spiral Dynamics/Ken Wilbur
jargon. For those more familiar with this work than I, what are your thoughts?
