You may have missed my point. I was not all trying to say what method is more accurate. But if you ask, barometric altimeter has superior short-term accuracy, while GPS altimeter has superior long term accuracy.
Be aware of the meaning difference of accuracy and precision. And be aware about difference between short and long term accuracy.
