I can see how that rap, out of context, would be a little weird to say the least - he's not exactly Tupac, or even Vanilla Ice. The rap was part of a nervous breakdown he has in the film, caused by his realization that he's become a complete sell-out to lobbyists and special interest groups and has lost his way. He goes a bit nuts, as in this scene. But I have nothing against rap - though most of it is garbage, and I might even grant at a higher rate than other genres, but I chalk that up to market forces. There seemed to be a higher quality overall in hiphop before it went entirely mainstream, but there's still a lot of great rappers out there. I've been hooked on Immortal Technique for a few - a bit angry, but articulate, vivid, and politically charged. And if you've seen the guy freestyle, he's unreal. _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
