No sense buying 500GB anymore, the sweet spot in pricing is at the top  
end.  1TB and 1.5TB drives ($100, $150 respectively).  Buying one in a  
case will be a bit more.

I like the Seagate Freeagent I think it's called. Has USB and eSATA,  
and mine also came with a Firewire option you can swap in if you  
want.  I am using it via eSATA, but when I get my next one, I will  
move that one over to the Firewire port.  A lot slower, bu still much  
faster than USB2

I have stopped buying WD and Maxtor drives.
