Actually, several people have been given death sentences for rape under special circumstances in the US in the past decade or less - I believe all for rape of a minor - though I'm not sure any sentences were carried through before Supreme Court challenges were successful. Nevertheless, it is a current issue in the courts and there are movements in some states to make certain categories of rape a capital crime. Also, certainly in some Muslim countries I'd say rape is considered worse - afterall, in a murder case you don't usually punish the victim too. Perhaps in non-Muslim countries as well - I'm not up on international rape law trends, needless to say. -R _______________________________________________ OSX-Nutters mailing list | [email protected] http://lists.tit-wank.com/mailman/listinfo/osx-nutters List hosted at http://cat5.org/
