Regis is right, you can't get LDAP to work correctly with only using the
SysConfig GUI - editing Config.pm (/opt/otrs/Kernel/Config.pm) is the
correct way to go ...

I posted my working LDAP (ActiveDirectory) Configuration around March
2006 in this List, i think it would be pretty helpful to you, pls search
the Archives.
