I’m hoping someone out there has some suggestions,
since many of you are working with these chips… I have several hobby-boards.com temp/humidity sensors, and
they seem to be WAY off at times – particularly the humidity. I’ve been tracking a weather station that is a short
distance (1/2 mile or so – about 1Km) from my home, where my sensors are.
I’m assuming that the humidity and temperature differential within this
distance is not very large – no more than 5% or so, so the weather
station should be a reasonable benchmark. It seems that my humidity readings never go over about 80%,
even during heavy rainfall. Of course, the weather station (my guide for “actual”
readings) peaks at 100% during the same time period (during rainfall). Since it’s usually relatively humid here, I haven’t
seen any time where the humidity is less than about 50%, but it looks like my
humidity readings are accurate from about 50%-70% RH, then go awry between
70%-100%. I’m in the process of recording more data from the
sensors (vad & vdd) into a mysql database, so I’ll have a lot more
detailed information in a few days, but meanwhile my question is: Is there any way to calibrate these sensors? Any
suggestions? Thanks, Vince |
