Philipp,

What is the license on the code you refrerence? There isn't any information at the start of the files, and I don't want to look too closely at the rest.

It would be easy to add support if:
1. Testing
    A. You have a sample and are willing to test, or
B The vendor supplies a sample
2. Documentation
A The code examples are GPL-compatible, or
B The vendor allows use (AKA the TAI8570) knowing the GPL implementation of OWFS forbids downstream restrictions, or
C The LCD screen is similar to any of the supported units.

Ah, I see. It would only slightly increase cable length but correct the
network topology. I will really give it a thought, as my sensor cables
are all Cat5 ethernet cables, that's more than enough wires.

Kein Problem :)

By the way, has anyone given this display
http://www.ipsymcon.de/info_lcd.htm
a try? At abount 25 EUR (ready to run), it seems to
be a bargain, but don't know if it is supported by
owfs in this form.

Some php code snipplets for it can be found here:
http://www.ipsymcon.de/scripts/LCD_Functions.ips
and an example:

Philipp
