Well, logically that is a star topology (i.e. wires meeting at a central location) but physically/electrically that is a bus topology, which is what I understand the official recommendation is for a 1-Wire network ;-) Sorry, I couldn't resist :-) But yes, I am doing the exact same thing, i.e. reaching the sensor with one pair, coming back from the sensor using another pair, and connecting both pairs at the sensor.
