I've been using the lumia 800 for the last month and love it. The two real
big positives are the coverage is excellent (Telstra blue tick) and the
screen is beautiful and great outdoors.
I wouldn't call the hardware slow, not by a long shot. The single core
running at 1.4 is pretty sweet: there's not really multitasking or parallel
processing happening on windows phone or any phones for that matter, so
slower speed dual cores are somewhat over rated.
I've seen comparisons of web browser rendering speeds showing WP to be
slower, but in general usage I seem to smoke all the latest iPhone
users...:)

Negatives are lack of tethering at present, waiting on a software update, no
4G, no front facing camera, and you're better off looking for moss on the
side of trees than using the compass. The 900 addresses all/most of those
short comings.

Oh, the Nokia maps are also cool.

I'm waiting for something with more oomph than the Nokia Lumia 900 - the
hardware seems under-powered for 2012
