Dear Lesley, Checking in my little "Evidence based guidelines for midwifery led care in labour" produced by NHS Sheffield Teaching Hospital, page 12 says all about fetal heart rate monitoring: - every 15 minutes during first stage - every 5 minutes in the second stage Hope this helps
