It all has to do with "informed choice". If
women know WHY the prolonged skin 2 skin is important, then many women
might wait an hour or so rather than knowing the weight immediately.
Most babies will have fed by then. Our society
is obsessed with weight from birth. It's either too much or too
little. We can never get it right. Appreciating a baby for the
miracle it is instead of judging it's worth by weight is a value that we may
need to gently teach women when we have the opportunity. Cheers,
