You usually get warnings on running stsadm -o import related to permissions such as: [6/5/2009 1:57:27 PM]: Warning: User or group 16 cannot be resolved. Last time I did an import I had 30 odd warnings related to importing users or groups.
Did you have any warnings/errors in your import log? Sezai.
