Have you tried just adding the new url to alternate access mapping? It won't
remove the old url, but you can use the new url then.

Once again - these are nothing to do with the site collection - they are
defined in the web application...

Hi guys,

No, not the webapp or root site. I'm talking about host header site collections
within the app.

I need to modify the current URL from http://old.site.com<http://site.com> to
http://new.site.com<http://site.com>.

I can see what values need to be changed but not sure whether the Rename method
takes all these into account.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a safe and effective way to do this?

Will the SPSite Rename method do the trick? I can't really test this easily
without creating some DNS records for the purpose.

I was hoping there might be a Rename-SPSite command-let out there somewhere. :)

Regards,

Paul
