I've found a very gracious benefactor in guise of Cluster Technologies Ltd. in Hong Kong that is supporting me for the next two weeks to finish the 2.6 release. The are paying me to update the code and remove all the memory leaks. So all of you who have been patiently (or not so patiently ;-) waiting for the release, please thank them.
So far I have about 30 API classes building leak free - with more added every day. I'll send more updates as they come.
That's great news! Can they get you access to an AIX platform in order to get exception handling working correctly in that environment?
I've been forced to shift all my apps to XML::LibXML due to the fact that AIX builds of XML::Xerces fail regression. Even though I never saw a segfault in actual use, the applications are too critical to take a chance with.
I have probably spent an aggregate of several weeks on this problem, and never made any progress. It's got something to do with exception handling, but that's as far as I was able to get.
Just curious: Has anyone managed to get an AIX build through all the regression tests? Maybe it's just me <g>.
Regards,
Steve
