The quoted argument is made for cable networks: "Ray Miller, a Cable Television Pioneer, past chairman of the NCTC, a director of the Outdoor Channel and current chairman of Country Cablevision. Miller said he believes that multicast has the possibility of turning the traditional cable television programming distribution model on its head." There is little evidence ISPs, large backbone providers and CDN's are rushing to invest in multicast/IPv6. Or is there? Application level multicast is much more feasible near term on p2p where it is under control of developers.
