Actually, HSAPI.DLL/LIB/H is what you want. HSAPI as in HotSync API
provides calls to start/stop/restart HotSync, among other calls.
Use the HsSetAppStatus() method.

While I don't know for sure what's in InstAide, it sounds like this is
something it'd cover.  Check it out.
If not, remember that it is possible (though I don't know for sure) that
the title might be translated into different languages.
In short, I'm talking on a topic I know little about, but I do have two
