The resolution on the screen is good enough to display barcodes and the
size of the screen is good enough to display reasonable sized barcodes.
However, barcode readers would by providing a bright, pure light source
(laser or CCD) and reading the reflection of the surface, whereas the
screen of the palm generates it own light source.
Without going through the effort of actually trying to create a valid
barcode of the screen and reading it, I'd say what you're trying to do
won't work, but good luck to you! Let us know, 'cos its a neat idea
if it works!
To experiment, you'd be advised to use a simple symbology like I-2/5
because tha'ts most tolerant to read. (A bad joke in the barcode
community is don't wear a striped shirt when scanning I-2/5's in case
you miss the box (or whatever) and accidentally scan your shirt)
Good luck!
