as it was pointed out. the LCD display will not work with active barcode
scanners, e.g. laser based. However a new breed of scanners are available from a
number of manufactures like Symbol Tech ( I know because I help develop it) that
use CCD devices to capture a frame (passive device) As I recall we were able to
decode barcodes (even 2D symbols) off of PC monitors, I never thought about the
palm though.
Just a note that these devices are more expensive than you average laser based
decoders.
