Looks good, Cassidy. When you're live, I think it'd be appropriate to link
to your site from the Palm developer area. I'd like to see us link to the
resources that others have created.

I'd think you'd also want to have a developer be able to give an idea of
what areas of programming they're best in - like rate yourself from 1 to 5
in familiarity with
  - tcp/ip programming
  - modem communications
  - Web Clipping (i.e. PQAs)
  - UI design
  - UI coding and widgets
  - hardware integration
  - Conduits on Windows
  - Conduits on MacOS
  - Springboard modules
  - Symbol scanner APIs
  - etc., etc...

... and then have searchers be able to sort based on how closely their
project needs match the skill sets. An obvious problem is someone giving
themselves unjustifiably high settings for each, but perhaps if you also
integrated some sort of reputation manager that could be used by others to
provide testimonials about someone's skill, and weighted the search of the
two together somehow, you'd have a great system.

Reputation managers for things like this are really helpful, I've found.
Or just automatically delete someone who says they're expert in everything.
:-) See also http://www.useit.com/alertbox/990905.html for ideas on
reputation managers; great site.

As an example: I'd think I'd rate pretty highly on many aspects of Palm OS,
but am near zero in practical terms on some others except at conceptual
levels (specifically conduits, comms and hardware.) Having people contact
me about those areas would be a waste of time for all concerned. Your site
can prevent that, and thereby have everyone be happier.

Perhaps you already have this on a further page than those I could get to,
without actually registering myself. (Speaking of which, perhaps have an
"temporarily inactive" state for people who are already booked up, or are
on vacation, or are lurkers like myself!)
