I understand what you are saying and this is why I referred to it as "realism".  No I 
can't get to my machine from the internet,
because it is behind a firewall.  But I can get to my "intranet" machine from all 
other machines behind the firewall (e.g. on the
LAN).  The point is that I want to test my Web Clipping application on the emulator, 
on my development machine without having to
deploy it outside the firewall to an Internet accessible machine.  The whole point of 
testing with the Emulator is to speed up the
development process.  Having the Emulator not "see" internal LAN machines makes this a 
pain.  But basically, your comments have
reassured me that the emulator will only allow me to access machines that are 
available from the public internet.  Thanks,
