Thank you for sharing with me. I am in a similar situation where Lotus Notes
and IBM products are standard in US EPA. I am going to try out EasySync. At
the mean time, I want to write a custom conduit using Lotus Notes C++ API. Can
you share with me on some good reference books?

I haven't tried PylonConduit simply because I work for a Lotus business partner
and there was a copy of EasySync laying around the office. It worked, and I
never looked for anything else.
The product offerings from Globalware look very impressive, but I don't think
they will work for my situation for a few reasons. (I'm going by their
documentation.) First, Pylon Conduit can only synch with the base Palm
applications. Given a custom Palm application and a custom Notes application,
this won't help me. They do say that, "Custom configurations can be easily
deployed for a corporate rollout or for third party vendors wanting to integrate
their Notes solutions with Pylon
technology." So it may be an option to work with Globalware in this way, but
out of the box it doesn't help.
PylonPro offers a mechanism to create a custom Notes application on your Palm
device, so users see essentially a shrunken Notes app on their Palm, complete
with shrunken version of the Notes workspace page. I haven't seen this in
action, so I can't comment on how well this works, but from the documentation it
looks brilliant. Still, I don't want a Notes database on my Palm. My Palm
application uses data from a small part of a larger Notes application, and I
don't want to incur the overhead of PylonPro.
Someone correct me if anything above is inaccurate. I think what Globalware is
doing is remarkable, but it doesn't solve every Notes problem.

Thank you, Ed. I am still curious on why so few Palm OS programmers write
conduits for Lotus Notes?
Using third party conduit is another option. We are in the process of
evaluating the tools, and EasySync is one of them. Why do you choose EasySync
over PylonPro (globalware). PylonPro synchronizes even the Notes custom
databases.

Hi Elizabeth,
We are in the process of tackling this issue right now. I think the best
approach to use is stick with EasySync for Notes mail and the basic Palm
applications, then create a custom conduit useing the Notes C++ API. I've used
the Notes C++ API, just never from a conduit, and I know that EasySync works
well for everything else.
How hard could it be?
I'll let you know how things progress from my end.

I need a conduit to synchronize Lotus Notes emails (and other databases
including custom databases). How complicated it is to write one? Are there any
