I did not mean to belittle the program functionality, but here are some
points based upon experience:
1. Your description of the PDA application has not changed; its primary
function is to record data. That's one level of PDA programming.
2. You want to send data to the PC application; that's a second level of
programming, to write a custom HotSync conduit.

The advantage of all three of the alternative environments that have been
mentioned (HB++, nsBasic, and Satellite Forms) is that they all provide the
following:
1. A faster way to develop data-based forms. Faster as in less learning
and less code to write.
2. Pre-built data transfer conduits that require little or no programming
to use.

It looks like you are headed down the right track.

Subject: RE: Help with new program

This program does more than collect data. The user enters test data while
taking readings. The program then sends the data to a desktop program. The
Desktop program then updates the customer's file with the new data and
alerts other computers of the changes.

Sending data to the desktop may be immediate if connected via BlueTooth or
at a later time by docking handheld. Additionally when the handheld sends
the data to the desktop, the desktop program doesn't have to be running, it
will read the files the next time the program is run.

I have downloaded HB++ and currently studing its help files. If anyone out
there would like to help, I can send you the Visual Basic version.

Thanks
Rick
