Well, I have had to solve it in my conduit, but it's a pretty lame solution
that I implemented, swearing at Microsoft the entire time I was working on
it. Basically, I prepend a "u" or "l" (representing uppercase and lowercase,
respectively) before each character in the file name (e.g. "MyDB" becomes
"umlyudub") Now, I have the luxury of knowing the length of my files so
doubling the file name length isn't significant. I figure that other better
Windows programmers had more sophisticated solutions than I.
Like I said, I really like the backup/restore process that Palm provides so I
don't want to force the backup bit off. In fact, I don't actually backup
these files myself, so I'd have to add this backup/restore functionality to my
conduit if Palm doesn't fix it themselves.
