Keep in mind that there is a reason it is seldom used. Unlike the ApplInfo block, the SortInfo block is lost on a backup. An oversight in HotSync which renders it a transient storage area that can (to the Palm OS application) just disappear without warning. So be careful not to fall into the trap of treating the SortInfo block excatly like the ApplInfo block, though it is very useful provided you understand its limitations.
