Subject: [Papermodels II 35991] OT - I'm not unemployed

I was unemployed for a while this time last year. The same week I got
laid off, my wife was fired from her job. We had to sell our house
and we traded our truck in for an econo-box at a lower payment. We
were down to our last $100 in savings when I finally got a call and
picked up a new job. Luckily my wife got herself another job shortly
before me. We were strapped for cash, but we tightened our belts and
sucked it up until it was over. In total, I was out of a job for
about 5 months and she was out for just under 3.

Things are just now getting back to normal (budget wise)...and getting
better.

With all the unemployment going on, I figured I'd share my "good"
news. I got accepted into a program with my school district where
they're going to pay for me to get a Masters and a Principal's
Certification. Out of the 400 or so people who applied, I was one of
the 20 selected for the program. This means I'll be working for the
district for the next year and a half while they pay for the Masters,
and then I get a mandatory 5 year contract (so they get their money's
worth out of me). So I've got a steady job for almost the next seven
years.

On top of that, we're paying off our car this month so no more car
payments. We got my wife and son switched to new health insurance so
we're saving $700 a month on that. We also got some news from our car
insurance company and we're going to be saving about $350 a year on
car insurance.

All this happened in the past week and a half.

Of course today my wife had two major blowouts on her way to work so
we got to spend a bundle on new tires. Two more bad things to go
before we start getting good news again.
