Thanks doc for your comments,
    This is an old cassette of not the greatest quality which I would like 
to preserve on a cd.  What would you do?  If I changed the sampling rate to 
32,-000, would it make that much difference? I ran it through the equalizer 
to spice up the trebble a little bit, do you think it would make that much 
difference?  Now, I got my length of the file later,  by  to the my music 
folder, selecting all the split files of the music on the cd, and going to 
properties and finding out how much room they are taking.
    Thanks for any help and suggestions.
