John,

Just so I understand, this card won't work for simple VOIP? Seems hard
to believe there wouldn't be some way around it. Dave had been hoping
the person at Wal-Mart might have had the jacks mis-wired. This lady
knows nothing of computers, so he couldn't test his theory without her
moving cords, which she didn't seem to want to do. > We were trying to
help out after she was unable to get into the chat on the ACB Radio
Tuesday Topics show in the ACB Radio Politics Room with Talkcom. We
probably should say she's
an acquaintance, and all we know is what we know. <sigh> Please
understand I'm not doubting you, but rather our possible inability to
communicate that the lady simply wants to work VOIP. Or is this what
you mean by "monitoring live chats"?

I think maybe it's time to suggest someone go over and check it out
hands on. If there's no way around the issue it will be up to her
whether she wants to invest in a sound card, as it appears she received
the computer under the auspices of Florida rehab. <sigh>

Hello Pam,
No, I have tried and couldn't do it with SOUND MAX: I couldn't get it to
work for me either.
So I installed an internal sound card so that I can monitor my
recordings and live chats.
I am so sorry, there is no other way to work around that.
My best regards!
  John.
