Hi Brett,
Which tuner did you pick up? Why do you want to use MediaCenter as
software? I have a pinnacle tuner and its software is really accessible
with jaws. I can record in .mpg or .ts if I like and I finally managed
to find a software which demuxes the separate streams. I don't like the
software MediaCenter first of all because I don't know if it is
accessible, and secondly I don't like the format it records in. Then
there are good softwares that work good enough with tv-tuner like altDVB
or DVBViewer.
Hope this helps

Well. I did pick up a tuner today. And had my sighted friend help me.
Needless to say I still cannot watch tv on my pc. I have not given up
hope.
Now the setup want an IR controler to be part of the whole package.
I'm losing my mind. Oh well if I can get this thing working it will
all be worth.
thanks guys

Good luck. I feel as if I should have emphasized to make sure you
were buying a model with a tv tuner already in it.
Good luck with getting it installed and working with the Media Center
software!
Let me know if I can help.

You would think so, but I think you need to separately order either
an internal or usb tv tuner card if it's not listed in the specs.
Do you see anything from Haugepauge, Pinnacle or the like?
If you need to get a card or usb device make sure it is compatible
with Media Center.
Since you ordered from Dell, you should be able to hop on the phone
and confirm what's in the box.
Good luck. Sorry for the problems!

Well I thought the tuner would already be on board since its a
mediacenter computer. That's why I'm a little confused.

I also thought to ask if you've got a tv tuner card installed or
via usb. The cable connection would attach to that card/device.
Hope it's all working fine by now!

I would guess that it would be somewhere on the back. Is there a
panel hiding the bank of connectors?
I just checked on the back of my HP and it is just above the
monitor connection.
In thinking about your situation, could it be an HDMI connection
rather than a conventional cable connection? I have no idea of
what that would look/feel like!
Good luck

Ok. So I got the pc from dell. Now I cannot figure out where to
plug in my cable. I don't see anything on here resembling a
cable jack. Any ideas?
