With the rubber duckie antenna that comes with it about a half mile or so. Of course if you want to go crazy you can just remove the rubber duckie antenna and replace it with a much large better tuned antenna which will give you even greater distance. One thing I have going in my favor is there are a number of pirate stations in my area that are much further from the legal limit than I am so I think I'm reasonably safe as long as I keep a low profile! As long as you broadcast music, don't start advocating the overthrow of the government, or start broadcasting over a commercial station you're left alone.
