Hi Jim. To be honest I've never looped. I've overdubbed, I've quantized,
I've edited out things I didn't want but I've never looped with it. If it
says it can than I believe it. Don't give up I promise you it's one of the
most accessible free sequencers I've seen. If all else fails you might be
able to copy and paste the same part multiple times as a cheap work around
but I'm afraid I don't have much experience looping with the software.

Hi. Well QWS is a very accessible free piece of software. It's a good idea
to look over the manual though. I don't think you'll find anything better
without buying something like cakewalk.
As far as looping and changing tempos of mp3's I'd have to reccomend
goldwave as a lot of folks do here on this list. It's not free but it has
a
nice demo to play with and if you like it, it's only 49 dollars with free
updates. The programmer has been very good about accessibility.

I hope this is an appropriate question for this list. If not, I
apologize.
I'm looking for two pieces of software that can help me. I am totally
blind
and use a PC computer with the JAWS screen reader.
First, I'm looking for some kind of free sequencing software that can
help
me manipulate Midi files.
What I need to do with some of these files that are being sent to me is
to
loop them while practicing, change the tempo, and replay them if
necessary.
Someone recommended QWS (Quick Windows Sequencer) but I can't figure it
out
for anything.
Second, I wonder if there's a similar program that can do the same with
mp3's. Mainly for that one, it would be nice to change tempos and even
keys.
For instance, the group with whom I play made some recordings of songs
for
me to practice. Now they've changed those songs to a different key, but
rather than ask them to record them again in the new keys, it would be
nice
to find a software package that could do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
