I only have windows 7 home.
That's why I was hoping for a third party software or firm-ware that I could
use.
Direct tv is a us tv provider.

You're using Windows 7, do you know what version of Windows 7 you're using?

If you're using Windows 7 Premium and above then you can use the built-in
Windows Media Center tool, its quite accessible with Window-Eyes.
