Hello: I only have windows 7 home. That's why I was hoping for a third party software or firm-ware that I could use. Direct tv is a us tv provider. I'd appreciate your input Thanks.

If you're using Windows 7 Premium and above then you can use the built-in Windows Media Center tool, its quite accessible with Window-Eyes.
