PM8500/180, 304MB RAM, 2GB SCSI HD, OS8.6

Question: What larger SCSI Hard Drive /sizes/ will fit in a PM8500? By that,
I mean both physical size (with adapters) and, perhaps more importantly,
what's the maximum volume size seeable by MAC OS8.6? Would I have to do
elaborate partitioning? Are there any power supply issues?

I eventually want to go to a G3/4, OSX or 9.1, but in stages. The
(original) 2 Gig HD doesn't cut it on size - and is noisier than hell - so
I've looked at Pricewatch for a larger HD. Several come to mind in my price
range (< $80), all of which are 1.6" thick:

IBM 36GB, Seagate 36GB, Seagate 50GB.

They're all 7200RPM 80-pin jobs, which require the 80-to-50-pin adapter for
my SCSI-2. I'm not looking at 10K RPM units, so heat isn't an issue.

I already know - from adding RAM a while ago - that the 8500 case is a bitch
to work on, that's why I'm asking these questions before ripping it open
again, heh heh!

;-P

Thanks.
