Plus I have a few apps that can't find their whatnots if they're not on the same volume as the booted System Folder. :\

Could you give some examples? I think that would be a valuable warning, since so many PCIPowerMac users have the urge to go with more and bigger drives.
StreetAtlas 4, 5, and 6 will crash during GPS following functions if the app and its files aren't on the boot disk. It's "extractor" program, that pre-loads maps onto your hard drive from their CD-ROM, can only load them onto your boot drive (but you can move them after its done). Delorme's official bug fix was was to tell us to use a virtual PC type product and buy the PC version of StreetAtlas.
Some of the old card games my housemate plays now and then.
