Randall,
I experienced the same concern. When I attached the monitor to my Beige I had
no response when I hit the power button on the monitor. However when I booted,
the monitor came to life and worked fine. It also shuts down when the computer
shuts down. I have the monitor plugged in separately from the computer as I
don't have the special power cord that goes from the computer to the monitor.
So the monitor must get the turn on command via the connector cable.
