I just downloaded the Users Manual ( http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/monitors/0340199AAV750750AVUM.PDF ) for the 750 and it says that the ADB is required for connection to a Mac for resolution switching and to access the AppleVision software controls. (I don't know if the software is still available or what OS's are compatible.) Given the choice, I'd go for the MS 17, but if the price is right, you may find a use for the 750. I find no reference for its startup sequence, but it's possible that it won't do anything without the ADB/video cables connected to a computer.
