The Multiscan 17 is working normally as far as the light colors and sequence. I'd bring in the laptop to make sure it works correctly. The indicators only tell that power was applied and accepted and that it couldn't find a video signal. Start it up and check to see that it works, has the multiple resolutions (has a bunch) and has good color, focus, etc. These were very good units. I have several. If you need to make any adjustments, contact me off list and I will attempt to attach the service manual in .pdf format to an email. The adjustments are very easy, although many are internal as in "Danger" high voltage.
The ADB ports on the base of the MS 17 are not tied to the computer. They were added to give the user a convenient way to keep cable clutter to a minimum. They are pass through connectors. Tie an ADB cable to the port from the computer and tie the keyboard ADB cable to the other port. Allows the keyboard to be further away from the computer while still allowing plenty of cable slack between the monitor and the workspace. I've never used the 750s, so I'll leave them to someone else, but if they are like the 1710s, their ADB cables were used to interface the monitor with the computer. (anyone?)
